Development of a strategic plan

The Deloitte Sports Business Group was engaged by the International Table Tennis Foundation (ITTF) to assist in the development of a global strategic plan for table tennis.

We consulted widely with the table tennis community including designing an online public survey that enabled all table tennis stakeholders (fans, professional players, amateur players, coaches, officials, National and Continental Federations) to give their input into the future strategic direction of table tennis. In addition we conducted direct consultations and workshops with National Associations, Continental Federations, ITTF staff and professional players.

The information received from the consultations, workshops and survey was analysed and key themes were identified. Our findings enabled us to assist the ITTF with defining the vision, mission and strategic priorities for table tennis. The five strategic priorities (organisation and governance; high performance and development; international events; promotion of the sport; and revenue generation) are underpinned by 55 objectives and 30 key outcomes.

Furthermore, we assisted the ITTF in developing a high level pathway and key milestones to guide the implementation of the strategy and to monitor its progress.
