Support for Sport England’s Youth Review

The Deloitte Sports Business Group was engaged by Sport England to assess the current Sporting Offer to Young People, as part of their wider review of sporting activity amongst young people.

In 2014 Sport England conducted a Youth Review, to understand if Sport England and the wider sector are delivering the right things to achieve year-on-year increases in regular participation amongst 14-25 year olds (Young People).

We analysed the Sporting Offer by focusing on those organisations delivering, facilitating or overseeing provision to the market and also from the perspective of how it is delivered to, and perceived by, the end user.

The primary focus of our research was conducted through consultations with key stakeholders, including Sport England representatives and individuals from c.20 other organisations, supplemented by desk-based research and questionnaires designed to establish an indicative overview of the market.

Our report provided a set of key findings and mapped the current Sporting Offer to Young People, supported by an evidenced-based overview of key delivery organisations/facilitators and relevant case studies.
