Elizabeth Gutteridge leads Deloitte’s UK Disputes practice. She has been appointed as an expert witness on many occasions and has given oral evidence in the High Court, the Court of Session in Scotland, the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and oral testimony by deposition in the Superior Court of Connecticut, as well as in the context of international arbitration and private mediation. She has extensive experience in quantifying damages in a range of different contexts and regularly undertakes accounting and factual investigations.
Increasingly, the complexity of the matters at stake sees Elizabeth’s team’s quantum expertise paired with other technical disciplines and so her team is used to working in conjunction with other experts. Elizabeth is the forensic lead for Deloitte’s Financial Services Disputes team and has a particular skill in combining effectively Forensic know-how with industry and technical expertise, in order to deliver multi-disciplinary teams of sector and technical experts.
Elizabeth has been recognised as one of the world’s leading commercial arbitration expert witnesses in the Who’s Who Legal 2016, 2015 and 2014 surveys. The 2016 survey describes her as “consistently and undeniably impressive”.
