Emma is the lead partner for the government & public sector and cyber legal advisory practices within Deloitte Legal. She has spent much of her career at the interface of complex technology transactions, regulatory frameworks and public policy. Emma spent her early career redrafting communications legislation and working on spectrum auctions at the UK Department for Trade and Industry. She then spent a decade working both in London and Washington DC advising on matters involving Governments or regulatory authorities around the world on both commercial and technology regulatory issues. Emma has, more recently, gained particular experience leading complex projects for public sector clients in the transport and health sectors, both in the UK and internationally.
Emma loves trying to solve the new issues that the converging nature of the TMT sector present and is a regular external speaker and author about both tech and diversity. Dr Shirley Jackson and Hedy Lamarr are heroines of hers as she has focussed on the industry and the applicable regulatory framework that their research (alongside others) has enabled.
