Ryan McMahon

Ryan is a Director in Deloitte UK’s Financial Services Transfer Pricing team based in London.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Ryan spent over 10 years at HMRC, where he was a UK Competent Authority leading HMRC’s Financial Services Transfer Pricing, which covered Banking, Asset Management, Insurance, FinTech, and Commodity Traders. That role entailed being the Financial Services Policy Owner for APAs and MAPs, as well as having a governance role with oversight of all large Financial Services Transfer Pricing audit issues.

During that time, Ryan led the UK’s relationship with the major Financial Services jurisdictions, such as the US and Japan, and concluded multiple APAs and MAPs with large taxpayers in the financial sector.

Ryan was the Vice-Chair of the FTA MAP Forum and was a UK delegate of the OECD’s Working Party 6 during the working of the Financial Transactions Chapter (now Chapter X in the 2022 OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines).

Ryan has a degree in Economics & Finance, a Distinction in the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (“ADIT”) qualification - receiving a prize for the highest mark in the world for the Transfer Pricing paper and was awarded a Distinction - MSc in Taxation from Christ Church College, University of Oxford.
