Tom leads the Sports Business Group’s work with respect environment, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, working with ‘sports for good’ organisations and governing bodies to develop their ESG strategy and influence change within the sports industry. He co-authored the insight piece 'A sporting chance: The role of sport in mitigating climate change' and regularly attend industry events and webinars.
More widely, he has completed a number of socio-economic impact studies for clubs and venue owners, has been involved in buy-side and sell-side due diligence projects for football clubs in the EFL Championship, Premier League and Serie A, and has worked on a wide range of strategic projects for governing bodies and competition organisers in Tennis, Squash and Basketball.
He is an author of the Annual Review of Football Finance and the Deloitte Football Money League – the Group’s two industry leading publications. He also manages Deloitte’s Football Intelligence Tool, developed to present the wealth of data in an online, visual and functional format.
Prior to joining the Sports Business Group in 2018, he qualified as an ACA Chartered Accountant in Deloitte’s audit practice where he worked with a range of public and private sector clients in a wide variety of industries.
