Join us at the Deloitte Tax Accounting Conference – 2021 Virtual from November 29–December 9, 2021. Our 2021 program, in its 16th year, will deliver content by live presenters with advanced technology and enhanced online engagement through a virtual platform for tax, accounting and finance professionals. As companies consider emerging legislative developments, our complexities course now includes an overview of such developments and the potential impact to financial statements.

Monday, November 29–Wednesday, December 1 | $900 | 10 a.m.–4 p.m. CST 

Our 3-day Essentials session covers the technical foundation of ASC 740 using a broad-based, case-study approach. It is designed for tax, accounting, and finance professionals who have limited experience or who need a refresher course focused on preparing an income tax provision including the financial reporting requirements.

Our International Essentials session covers the technical foundation of international concepts and related ASC 740 consequences. The course uses a broad-based, case-study approach and is for professionals with limited experience preparing multinational income tax provisions.

In this 6-hour course, participants will focus on common subchapter K pitfalls relating to complex partnership structures, including Up-C structures and SPACs, as well as current ASC 740 technical issues relating to partnership accounting.

6 Accounting and Tax credits*

Our 2-hour risk management and technology session dives into using tax systems, data wrangling/automation tools, spreadsheet analyzers, and analytics to help mitigate the risks associated with accounting for income taxes. Our instructors will provide insights on how technology can enhance both the income tax provision process and the internal controls framework.

Our 4-day Complexities course features a broad-based agenda covering a wide-range of complex income tax accounting issues incorporating global and US legislative changes, and complex domestic and international tax issues. This course is geared toward the experienced income tax accounting professional, doing business both domestically and globally, interested in expanding their knowledge with the ever-changing tax landscape.

Vickie Carr

Vickie Carr

US Leader | National Tax Accounting Group (NTAG)

Vickie is a partner in Deloitte Tax LLP. She has been with Deloitte for more than 30 years serving public and private clients in several industries, including many of our largest multinational clients. Vickie has spent the majority of her career specializing in tax accounting, specifically consulting with clients on ASC 740 matters. She currently leads our National Tax Accounting Group, a project-based group that provide tax accounting services such as outsourced and co-sourced provisions, transaction support including acquisition accounting and carve-out services, and deferred tax validations (i.e., tax basis balance sheets). She works with Deloitte’s Washington National Tax—Accounting for Income Taxes Group. Vickie is a frequent speaker at internal and external conferences on tax accounting topics, including client roundtables, external training, client-specific training, and Dbriefs for executives.

Kathleen Farlow

Central Texas Managing Partner

Kathleen is managing partner of Deloitte LLP’s Central Texas practice and the National Tax leader for our audit clients bringing tax and accounting expertise. For most of her career, she has focused on accounting for income taxes in the financial statements of her clients ranging from emerging growth companies to some of the largest multinationals. She currently serves as the lead tax partner for two global public clients. In October 2012, Kathleen relocated to Austin to be the Central Texas managing partner leading Deloitte professionals in Austin and San Antonio. Kathleen received a Master in Professional Accounting–Tax degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor in Business Administration–Accounting degree from Texas A&M University. She is a certified public accountant in Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
