Ovetta Sampson, Director UX Core Machine Learning, Google

A design executive specializing in AI, Ovetta has led multidisciplinary teams at global companies such as IDEO, Microsoft, and Google. Her sweet spot is taking the deep expertise of engineering, product management, research, and design and creating transdisciplinary practices, policies, and teams that produce better, more human-centered products, platforms, and services.

A pioneer in Responsible AI, Ovetta helped to create the design industry’s first set of AI Ethics Principles at IDEO in 2017. She’s currently the director of UX Machine Learning at Google.

Sejal is a senior technology executive and product development expert with more than 25 years of experience leading large teams through cultural, operational, and technology transformation for SaaS initiatives. 

Currently, she is the chief technology officer for Shutterstock. She has a wide range of technology leadership experience managing global product development teams and portfolios of growing size and complexity for more than 15 years. 

Over the years, she led several enterprisewide transformation initiatives focused on project-to-product transitions, organizational transformations, technology portfolio redesigns, and building high-performance product development cultures to keep pace with a rapidly changing technology environment.

Sejal was recognized on the BT150 Transformational Executive List in 2021 and has a number of professional associations including board director for the Value Stream Management Consortium, board director for Pariveda Solutions, and an advisory board role for 3Pillar Global.
