Meet the speakers

Jamie Davis
Jamie currently is a clearing partner in Deloitte's National Office Accounting and Reporting Services group, where she consults with engagement teams on complex accounting matters, focusing on financial instruments, leases, and share-based compensation. She also leads the Accounting and Reporting market offering within Deloitte's Accounting & Reporting Advisory (ARA) practice. Jamie is based in Chicago but regularly engages with clients and teams nationwide to collaborate on their most challenging accounting issues. From 2018-2020 she worked as a professional accounting fellow in the United States Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of the Chief Accountant. In her role, she worked closely with registrants, standard-setters, auditors, and other Commission staff regarding the application of accounting standards, with a focus on matters involving leasing, financial assets, derivatives, debt, equity, and digital assets/cryptocurrency.

Kirti Parakh
Kirti is a managing director with more than 15 years of public accounting and finance transformation experience. She is the National leader in Deloitte’s Controllership Transformation practice helping clients drive value through building transformation strategy, redesigning processes, optimizing the close and transactional processes, and through strategic deployment of digital transformation solutions, including robotics and intelligent automation, Blackline, Workiva, and data analytics. Kirti also leads data transformation and analytics projects including data governance (policies, procedures, roles, responsibilities, change management), data quality, data management, and leveraging the data to obtain relevant business insights. She works closely with audit committees, CFOs, controllers, internal audit, and other client organization functions. Kirti loves traveling, is a ‘foodie’, and spends most of her free time with her husband, Sandeep, and their two children, Arya and Arin.

Lauren Pesa
Lauren is a partner in Deloitte's Accounting & Reporting Advisory practice. She is the US Sustainability, Climate & Equity Leader for Real Estate, mobilizing responses to the complex needs of owners and occupiers across a spectrum of issues impacting strategy, reporting, and tax. She is also the Accounting & Reporting Advisory ESG Leader, helping organizations think about ESG in the context of reporting and an evolving regulatory environment. In these roles, she has a passion for helping clients and teams solve challenges related to ESG reporting and strategy, bringing a multi-functional perspective considering data, process, internal controls, and technology enablement. Lauren spent two years in Deloitte's National Office Accounting Services group focused on leases, business combinations, and consolidation, and is a current member of Deloitte's National On-Call Accounting Advisory group. She also has significant experience with registration statements and complex transactions with a real estate focus.
