He also leads efforts in exploration of quantum computing and related technologies, working to solve customer challenges with these advanced technologies. In his role as CTO for Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Government and Public Services practice, he works with government clients to use technology to innovate in their operations, technology and mission delivery.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Steve was a partner at Monitor Group and co-head of its New York office. Additionally, Steve was previously the Director of Strategy at Forbes. Steve helps executives and their teams transform their organizations by making challenging and pragmatic strategy choices in the face of uncertainty. He is an architect, expert practitioner, and teacher of a wide array of strategy and innovation methods and tools. Over a 25+ year career, Steve has served clients across most industries, with an emphasis on industries in transition and consumer-driven sectors. Steve is the co-author of the national bestselling books, Provoke: How Leaders Shape the Future by Overcoming Fatal Human Flaws and Detonate: Why–and How–Corporations need to Blow up Best Practices (and Bring a Beginner’s Mind) to Survive.
