Cole Clark joins Deloitte’s Higher Education practice
Deloitte is pleased to announce the addition of Cole Clark to its Higher Education leadership team as the national director of Higher Education client relations.
“We’re delighted to have Cole join us,” said Jeff Bradfield, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, and national higher education practice leader. “The depth and breadth of his experience will be a tremendous asset to our clients in their pursuit of institutional excellence. His vision will help Deloitte further strengthen its higher education sector, which is among the fastest growing in our organization."
Based in Atlanta, Cole comes to Deloitte from Oracle Corporation where he served as the global vice president for education and research. Cole has worked with hundreds of colleges, universities, and multi-national nonprofit research organizations over the past two decades in various leadership positions at Oracle and Sun Microsystems.
Cole has been a regular contributor to the opinion-editorial pages of leading industry publications, and he has chaired Oracle's presence at many industry conferences and events such as EDUCAUSE, Alliance, NACUBO, and EUNIS. He led the Higher Education Industry Strategy Council for Education and Research and has moderated numerous panels that have included university presidents, CFOs and CIOs discussing technology's role in enabling transformation and institutional excellence in higher education.
“Higher education, both in the United States and around the world, is facing a number of challenges that also present significant opportunities,” said Clark. “I am honored to be joining a prestigious organization with the capabilities to truly enable transformation within higher education. I also am looking forward to working with Deloitte’s clients to help them address their most complex challenges, while preserving the qualities that make their institutions so unique.”
Cole graduated with honors from Rhodes College with a BA in international relations. He was a two-time recipient of the Donald J. Gattis Memorial Award for Middle Eastern Studies. He serves on the National Advisory Board of Western Governors University and has also been a member of the EDUCAUSE Corporate Advisory Committee.
Cole joins a growing number of higher education leaders who are bringing their broad range of experiences in higher education to Deloitte. These leaders include: John Curry, a former executive vice president at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), former vice president for business and finance at the California Institute of Technology, former administrative vice chancellor and chief financial officer at the University of California at Los Angeles, and former vice president for budget and planning at the University of Southern California; Jim Kemp, a former chief financial officer for the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, a former associate vice president for research operations at Columbia University, and a former managing director of higher education consulting at Huron Consulting Group; and Scott Friedman, a former managing director of Huron Consulting Group’s Higher Education Strategy and Operations practice.
