Deloitte Announces Matt Gentile as New Leader of its Government & Public Services Advisory Practice
A recognized innovator and entrepreneur in the analytics community, Mr. Gentile will leverage nearly 20 years of experience in technology and public policy in new Deloitte role.
WASHINGTON, Nov. 23, 2020 — Deloitte announced Matt Gentile, principal, Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory, Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP, as the new leader of its Government & Public Services Advisory practice, effective today. In this role, he will oversee large swaths of Deloitte’s work in cyber security, risk management, financial modernization and digital transformation with government agencies at the federal, state and local levels and with institutions of higher education. He most recently served as a leader for much of Deloitte’s work with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and as the government and public services Innovations & Platforms Industry leader.

In his time at Deloitte, Gentile has made significant contributions to the analytics community through advising federal agencies and Fortune 500 companies on the collaborative exchange, display and analysis of data. He recently led Deloitte’s collaboration with the MIT Media Lab on the development and launch of DataUSA.io, an analytics and visualization platform for some of government’s biggest public data sets. He has applied his deep knowledge in numerous industries from banking and insurance to homeland security, transportation, housing and urban development, and many other governmental entities.
Gentile holds a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University and a Masters of Science in Urban Studies and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also serves as a member of the board of directors for the Homeland Security and Defense Business Council (HSDBC). From 2013–2018, Gentile served on the National Geospatial Advisory Committee to help inform the development and implementation of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). Mr. Gentile has also served on the Advisory Board for Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs and as a member of the Board of Directors for The Fishing School.
