Deloitte Joins International Consortium for Agile to Deliver Accredited Training
Deloitte practitioners can now become certified to deliver Agile Fundamentals course.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 10, 2017 — With more federal agencies using agile methodologies in the development of information technology (IT) and other projects, Deloitte joined the International Consortium for Agile (ICAgile) to deliver accredited agile training to Deloitte practitioners and clients. To start, Deloitte successfully accredited its “Agile Fundamentals” course for the ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP) certification. Deloitte practitioners, especially those 8,000 practitioners in its federal practice, will be encouraged to become certified in the course.
“The ICAgile certification strengthens our agile capabilities by helping clients understand their readiness for an agile transformation, build a plan for success, and obtain the coaching and expertise needed to guide their transformation journey,” said Nishita Henry, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and Federal Technology leader.
Deloitte’s agile-learning experiences will now be accredited against ICAgile learning objectives, which were created by industry leaders worldwide. The accredited courses will help practitioners gain the skills that are critical and unique to specific agile disciplines.
“We’re very pleased to have Deloitte join ICAgile as a member organization. ICAgile’s focus on providing world-class agile learning paths and accreditation services, in collaboration with Deloitte’s commitment to excellence in agile transformation solutions, opens exciting new doors for organizations looking to achieve sustainable agility,” said Shannon Ewan, managing director, ICAgile.
“Deloitte’s relationship with ICAgile demonstrates a commitment to the agile mindset as an entry point for sustainable agility; we believe that this collaboration will have a lasting impact on Deloitte and its clients,” added Ahmed Sidky, president, ICAgile.
Because ICAgile’s learning experiences are focused on guiding people to agile mastery within a specific discipline (e.g., Agile Coaching, Business Agility, Delivery Management), Deloitte practitioners will be able to use ICAgile’s Roadmap to track their agile learning journey and identify their next steps.
Government use of agile is increasing, according to a recent study from the Office of Management and Budget, Office of Personnel Management, USASpending.gov, and FedBizOpps data by Deloitte’s Center for Government Insights.
The study uncovered four trends in agile:
- Major federal IT projects are getting smaller.
- Major federal IT projects are also getting shorter.
- More and more these IT projects are being called agile.
- Though many are deemed agile, waterfall and agile projects seem to co-exist.
“Our study shows that agile techniques have taken root in parts of the federal IT ecosystem,” said Warren Miller, managing director, Deloitte Consulting LLP and Federal Agile leader. “Agile is a mindset that we have embraced – the guidance and ability it affords us to iterate, prototype and adjust rapidly to get to a better solution with our clients is something we want to grow and do more of across the government. ICAgile certification will support this work.”
Founded in 2010, ICAgile is a leading global Agile certification and accreditation body that helps organizations design learning experiences that cultivate an agile mindset and enable sustainable organizational agility. ICAgile provides world-class learning tracks to guide organizations in the development of their curriculum. ICAgile’s approach is not tied to any specific Agile methodology, thus giving people the flexibility to blend flavors in a way that make sense for their reality.
