Deloitte Legal Business Services Deepens Legal Operations Capabilities with Addition of Bob Taylor to Senior Leadership Team
Deloitte Tax LLP (“Deloitte Tax”) is pleased to announce that legal operations veteran Bob Taylor has joined the Deloitte Legal Business Services team as a managing director based in Boston.
NEW YORK, March 15, 2021 — Deloitte Tax LLP (“Deloitte Tax”) is pleased to announce that legal operations veteran Bob Taylor has joined the Deloitte Legal Business Services team as a managing director based in Boston. At Deloitte Tax, Taylor will focus on the business of law and legal department transformation, specifically through the advancement of legal operations and building the legal business services model of the future.
Taylor is the latest industry leader — and first senior leader from the world of in-house legal operations — to join Deloitte in its global expansion as one of the world’s largest providers of Legal Business Services. He joins recent U.S. senior additions that include Mark Ross, Steven Walker, Valerie Dickerson, Rich Levine, Lewis Christian, Mike Rossen, Harley Hauser, Heather Jacobson, Liz Letak, Ian McDonald, and Natalie Ponder. Together, the Deloitte team brings considerable experience and momentum to the legal business services industry and clients focusing on operational improvements.
Taylor has spent the past 25 years working at the intersection of business and law for Liberty Mutual, most recently as senior corporate counsel and manager for the company’s legal operations function. As a senior executive with deep experience in strategy, integration, and optimization, Taylor created Liberty Mutual’s legal ideation and transformation group. The group helps enable the future of in-house practice of law by focusing on legal innovation, competitive intelligence, legal project management, data driven law tools, knowledge management, legal vendor management, strategy, and a range of litigation management-related issues.
Taylor brings to Deloitte Tax a deep understanding of the needs of corporate legal departments and multinational users of legal services, having literally walked in the shoes of the practice’s target buyer. His diverse set of experiences will help guide organizations through ever-evolving ecosystems and drive shareholder value.
Taylor also is an active volunteer in both professional and civic organizations. He has served as an attorney mentor for Discovering Justice, an organization that empowers students to embrace the values of civic responsibility and is also on the president’s advisory group at Stonehill College and an advisory board member for Suffolk Law School’s program on Legal Innovation and Technology. Taylor was appointed in 2017 to the American Bar Association’s Governing Counsel for the Center for Innovation and continues in that role.
Taylor received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and American Studies from Stonehill College in 1991 and his Juris Doctor from New England Law in 1994. He went on to obtain a MBA from Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Management in 2002, where he graduated with highest honors and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society.
