Deloitte Names Robin Lineberger as Leader of U.S. and Global Aerospace and Defense Practice
NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2017 — Deloitte announced that Robin Lineberger has been appointed the leader of its Aerospace and Defense practice in the United States and worldwide. Lineberger succeeds Tom Captain, who will retire from Deloitte in June after 36 years of service. Both Lineberger and Captain are principals with Deloitte Consulting LLP.
Lineberger’s career includes 30 years as a consultant to the aerospace and defense sector, having advised and served clients globally. He is the former CEO of Deloitte's U.S. Federal Government practice and member of the organization’s executive committee where he was responsible for the post-acquisition integration of BearingPoint’s federal practice. As a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, he led the software development and testing for a major command and control platform.
“Robin brings a record of outstanding service to much of the aerospace and defense industry, and to government clients as well,” said Seema Pajula, vice chairman and Consumer and Industrial Products leader, Deloitte.
His deep industry knowledge and experience, dedication to the industry and service to our nation have distinguished him throughout his career. I am delighted that he is taking on this new role.
Lineberger will head Deloitte’s Aerospace and Defense practice that serves over 90 percent of the Fortune 500 aerospace, defense and space companies. He will be responsible for leading client service and will work with senior management of Deloitte’s clients. Lineberger is based in McLean, Virginia.
“This is an interesting time for the aerospace and defense industry,” said Lineberger. “Our clients are looking to address cyber risk challenges, operational excellence and improve performance to grow and increase profitability. I look forward to leading and serving the Deloitte Aerospace and Defense team in my new role as we help our clients navigate this environment and target opportunities for growth.”
