New York, March 29, 2017 — Deloitte announced today that Stephen Burrill has been appointed vice chairman, Deloitte LLP and national sector leader of the Health Care Providers practice in the United States, effective immediately. Burrill succeeds Dr. Mitch Morris, who retired from Deloitte in February.
“Health care providers face unique and ongoing challenges in an evolving health care landscape where government regulations are complex, compliance is critical and the value-based model is a priority,” said Burrill. “I am proud of the work our exceptional team is doing to help our clients transform these challenges into opportunities. I look forward to leading a health care provider team spanning our advisory, audit, consulting and tax practices that is deeply committed to helping our clients navigate this ever-changing landscape.”
Burrill will lead the overall strategic direction of the sector as well as its go-to-market strategies and resources.
“Steve has outstanding client-service experience and an exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge in the health care provider space,” said Bill Copeland, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, and Life Sciences & Health Care national industry leader. “I am pleased to see him take on this role, and I am confident our health care providers practice will thrive under his leadership.”
Most recently, Burrill has served as Deloitte’s Health Care Providers Advisory function sector leader. With more than 33 years of experience, he has served clients across the health care spectrum—complex large systems, academic medical centers, children’s hospitals and single location entities. Burrill has led large transformational projects involving acute care hospitals, ambulatory operations, clinics and physician practices.
