My Deloitte Story: Anita Hemraj

Anita Hemraj has over 19 years of higher education experience and 11 years of consulting experience, particularly in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Since joining Deloitte in 2018, Anita has advised leaders on Oracle-enabled student information system transformation programs for higher education clients. She leverages her extensive industry knowledge, focusing on business process reengineering (BPR), and implements leading practices to drive better outcomes for students, staff, and faculty.

With her combined industry and consulting experience, Anita has spent the past four years building strong relationships and the higher education brand within Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice. Her interpersonal and technical skills have been pivotal in expanding Deloitte's impact.

Anita is committed to coaching and actively seeks opportunities to challenge and motivate her teams, supporting their development. She holds a bachelor of arts in aviation management from Metropolitan State University in Minnesota.

Below, Anita shares some insight about her career at Deloitte.

What part of your day-to-day work at Deloitte do you most look forward to?

I look forward to connecting with my clients. These interactions are crucial because they allow me to better understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that reinforce the value we bring to their institution. Effective delivery not only ensures my client is satisfied but also strengthens our relationships. This aspect of my work is incredibly fulfilling as it highlights the impact we make and the trust clients place in Deloitte.

Why is Deloitte's commitment to empowering our people important to you personally, and how does it align with your own values and career aspirations?

Deloitte's commitment to empowering our people resonates with me personally because I have been fortunate to have strong role models throughout my career, especially on my current project. These leaders and mentors have shown me the importance of leadership and resilience. This motivates me to excel in my career while also advocating for others.

What keeps you busy outside of your work at Deloitte?

This past summer, I finally got a flower garden, and it has truly become my happy place. Additionally, I recently purchased a treadmill and I’m looking forward to blocking 30 minutes here and there to get some movement during hectic days. I also consider myself an avid traveler. I enjoy immersing myself in new cities, often spending an entire week in one location to fully experience the local culture and lifestyle. I will be heading to Vienna and Lake Como next..
