The city of Cincinnati’s infrastructure required fast and precise improvement to support its growing population, however much of the infrastructure is underfunded and difficult to inspect given historical, manual methods. The city needed resources and technology to support and build for a prosperous future.

How we helped:

SFL Scientific, a Deloitte Business, joined forces with Cincinnati's Mayor, Aftab Pureval, to revolutionize the way Cincinnati conducts inspections for critical infrastructure around the city. The team used drones armed with high-definition sensors and OptoAI technology to model and scan infrastructure core to the city's economy. The scans translated into a highly crisp 3-D model of the infrastructure that showed and prioritized structural problems for repair.

Result:

The partnership enabled the city to access more accurate information more quickly and more affordable than ever before. Whereas mapping repairs for Cincinnati’s bridges used to take 3 to 6 months, it now takes two minutes thanks to Deloitte-powered AI. This empowered prioritization of repair efforts and optimized the reconstruction potential to safeguard lives.
