The transformation of investable assets
The investment management industry is at the frontier of a shifting economic framework. In this episode of the IMpact Podcast, host Reese Blair chats with Sandy Kaul, SVP and head of digital asset and industry advisory services at Franklin Templeton and a thought leader in economic frameworks and financial services, about her insights into the shift from a platform economy to a protocol economy. They also discuss the emergence of new asset classes, such as tokenized investments and intellectual property portfolios, and how these innovations could democratize access to investments.
We're going to be able to take our own assets and begin to tokenize them using these protocols because they're creating these, what we call smart contracts, which are basically templates where we just fill in a few details.

Senior vice president, Franklin Templeton
The commercialization of all of these protocol economy models is going to be completely reliant upon it being as simple and as safe as it is today. No one's going to want to go backwards and have to do things in a more difficult and less safe way.
