The Digital Worker: Transforming HHS Service Delivery in the Fourth Industrial Revolution
The HHS service delivery worker of the future is in the midst of the fourth industrial revolution defined by the combination of digital and physical realms which is substantially disrupting delivery of HHS services. The fast pace of technology changes presents new opportunities in how it transforms the ways in which case workers deliver services to their citizens, and is marked by emerging technology breakthroughs in a number of areas, including automatics, artificial intelligence, cognitive thinking, digital analytics, mobile, social, cyber, cloud, and data integration. Each of these trends has the potential to disrupt the way government organizations think about operating and managing their service delivery models across functions, agencies, and stakeholders in the ecosystem. HHS leaders can embrace this transformation, and position the digital case worker to adopt new technologies, generate the efficiency gains and keep up with the increases in demand for services. The service delivery impact is across the broad array of HHS programs—TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, child care, child welfare, child support, and participating in work requirements, and how they are delivered.
In this session, we will explore and demonstrate how the right strategy and approach can enable the digital worker to transform the delivery of services and help families in need. We will also engage a panel of clients who are leading the way in transforming the delivery of services, defining the wave of the future.
Community service event benefitting Melwood
Monday, October 23, 2017
4:45–6:30 p.m. EST
Gaylord National Convention Center | Exhibit Hall
In the spirit of giving back to the communities we serve, we are excited to have the opportunity to support Melwood, APHSA’s chosen charity for this year’s ISM Conference. Melwood is a dynamic nonprofit providing jobs and training for people with differing abilities, contract support services to the government, life skills and recreation, and trauma-related programs for veterans in the greater Washington, DC area. Melwood has a longstanding history—54 years—of providing services to individuals with disabilities. However, Melwood prefers the term “differing abilities.” Their mission is to advocate for and empower individuals of differing abilities to transform their own lives through unique opportunities to work and play in the community.
Please join us in the Exhibit Hall on Monday, October 23 as we aim to fill 1,500 Emergency Care Packages for Melwood participants. Stop by for a few minutes, or stay the entire time—together we can make a difference for these veterans!
