Brian Murrell

Brian is Deloitte Advisory Power and Utilities industry sector leader for Deloitte & Touche LLP and leads our US Commodities Trading Risk Management (CTRM) practice, focused on end-to-end trading and transacting risk management solutions. In that capacity, he oversees our services in strategy, operations and technology, business process and controls, regulatory compliance, market and credit risk, valuation and quantitative services, and derivative and operational accounting and reporting. Brian has focused experience on dealing with energy trading and risk management issues and managing advisory projects as well as attest services delivered to integrated energy companies. He has significant experience in implementing derivative accounting rules for energy companies and other large corporates with significant commodity price risk exposures. His work has included both International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) derivatives accounting guidance, as applied to commodity transacting activities and trading contract portfolios.

Paul Campbell

Paul leads Deloitte Advisory's Energy Regulatory and Risk Consulting services for the Regulatory & Compliance practice. With more than 20 years of experience, Paul assists energy industry and federal government clients with regulatory compliance, energy and commodity trading risk, trade surveillance, credit, quantitative analytics, technology, and business processes. He also leads Dodd-Frank, FERC, and NERC efforts.

Clint Carlin

Clint Carlin is the Power and Utilities industry leader for Deloitte Advisory and also leads the Financial Accounting and Reporting practice for the Energy & Resources industry. He has more than 20 years experience working with large utilities, commodity trading firms, and end-users of commodities. Clint focuses on providing auditing and accounting advisory services to clients with capital market transacting activities. He holds a BBA in accounting from Texas A&M University.

Jim Dillavou

Jim is a senior partner in Deloitte Advisory's Energy & Resource Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice. He focuses on providing due diligence, transaction structuring, purchase price adjustment, and closing assistance with M&A, joint ventures and similar transactions in the energy and resources industry. Jim has led our M&A transaction services more than 200 deals, many which included large portfolios of energy trading positions used to hedge or optimize positions and operations.

Andy Dunn

Andy leads Deloitte Advisory's valuation and modeling professionals who focus on the Energy & Resources industry sector in the United States. He has more than 24 years experience in professional services, much of it in valuation and financial risk management for clients with energy and commodities exposure. Clients worked with range from power and utility merchants, integrated oil and gas companies, and the trading desks at major investment banks.

Trent Gall

Trent is a partner with Deloitte Calgary.  With more than 25 years industry and consulting experience, he brings a broad range of insight across CTRM, risk and credit solutions having worked with both energy and financial services clients around the world. He is a recognized global knowledge leader for CTRM and related applications within Deloitte and also manages a number of relationships and knowledge capital on the vendors specializing in this area. Trent has also been involved in merger & acquisition projects in the area of due diligence and leading post-merger integration activities specifically in the area of trading and marketing.

Tom Lochbichler

Tom is a principal in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Houston office, providing commodity trading and risk management (CTRM) systems consulting services to energy trading and marketing companies throughout North America. Tom is currently focused on managing large-scale systems trading technology engagements at some of the practice’s biggest clients in the Power & Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors. These engagements have spanned the transacting lifecycle, including front, mid, back office, and procurement processes for the full spectrum of energy commodities, including natural gas, power, and coal.

John Vickers

John is a director in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Houston office and he leads teams conducting reviews of commodity transacting processes and controls. Projects include design reviews of the internal controls infrastructure, and planning and execution of controls testing.
