Ari specializes in taxation of partnerships and their partners for domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and restructurings. He has a special interest in the intersection of Subchapter K and the international tax rules, often helping clients to navigate complexities arising from coordinating two disparate principles-based systems.
Ari rejoined Deloitte’s Washington National Tax practice after working as an attorney advisor in the Office of Tax Legislative Counsel at the US Department of the Treasury. While there, he worked closely with the Office of the International Tax Counsel on several regulations packages coordinating Subchapter K and international tax rules. Before joining Deloitte originally, Ari was an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service, Office of Chief Counsel of Pass throughs and Special Industries. Ari speaks often about the taxation of partnerships and their partners at tax conferences throughout the country, including American Bar Association and Practising Law Institute conferences as well as others. He has also helped draft numerous bar reports for the American Bar Association Tax Section.
Ari received a BS in information systems management from Salisbury University and a JD summa cum laude from University of Maryland School of Law.
