John Athanas

John is a Deloitte Tax LLP partner in the Michigan practice where he serves several of Deloitte’s largest US-based multinational companies and is the central region tax reform leader. He has consulted and advised on a wide range of tax issues, including tax accounting (ASC740), troubled company restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence, accounting methods, Subchapter C, and consolidated returns.

With more than 20 years of experience, John has provided a broad range of compliance and consultative services to a variety of industries including manufacturing, high technology, and retail. He is a member of Deloitte’s Business Tax Services and Accounting for Income Taxes teams.

John is a certified public accountant licensed in Michigan and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves as an adjunct instructor at Walsh College.
