Dr. John M. Wells is the Americas leader of Deloitte Tax LLP’s Transfer Pricing practice and Washington Nation Tax Senior Economist. He has served clients across the industry spectrum, including Fortune 500 companies in chemicals, energy, engineering, manufacturing, pharma, retail, software, transportation, telecom and entertainment. He has been consistently nominated to the list of the World’s Leading Transfer Pricing Advisors by Euromoney and Legal Media Group’s “Best of the Best” Transfer Pricing Advisors.

John has extensive valuation and transfer pricing experience across a unique range of intangibles and industries including processes, patents, technology, knowhow, trademarks, and high-value procurement and ESG services. 

John has performed the economic analyses used in Advance Pricing Agreements with more than 10 countries. He has represented taxpayers in transfer pricing disputes with tax authorities in 8 countries and served as an expert witness in cases with the IRS and U.S. state tax authorities.
