Lance has more than 18 years of professional experience. In his eight years with Deloitte, Lance has performed multiple business plan analyses, restructuring implementations, and financial negotiations for corporate turnarounds and restructurings across multiple industries. He has represented the interests of both secured and unsecured creditors in several restructurings; developed numerous business plans; and performed other financial analyses for companies undertaking various restructuring alternatives.

A few of Lance’s bankruptcy and reorganization services, lender services, and other consultative services include:

  • Advised a federally mandated, non-profit, member-funded, United States corporation which mandates membership of most US-registered broker-dealers in the liquidation of a global financial services firm including developing a strategy and related analyses in relation to preference litigation
  • Advised a major metal manufacturing company through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding, including analyses on the restructuring of capital and assistance in the disposition of various assets, developing a plan of reorganization, preparing financial projections and a business plan, as well as preparing statements, schedules, and monthly operating reports
  • Managed the review and analysis of valuation models for the restatement of a US-based telecommunications company’s acquisition, the impairment charge, and application of fresh start accounting upon emergence from bankruptcy in 2004
  • Developed a detailed overhead allocation model for a US-based energy, commodities, and services company in its bankruptcy proceedings used to allocate shared overhead expenses to Enron’s business units, for both debtor and non-debtor affiliates
  • Provided advisory services to a $2 billion not-for-profit hospital system, including the development of an extensive financial projection model used to assess the hospital’s liquidity position
  • Developed a business plan, including financial projections, to support the plan for a southern US healthcare provider’s implementation of $200 million in capital improvements to present to the company’s board of directors
  • Advised a number of unsecured creditors’ committees in bankruptcy proceedings, including evaluating the debtor’s business operations, valuation issues, Key Employment Retention Plan evaluation, industry analysis, director and officer liability issues, fraudulent conveyance issues, plan feasibility, and other matters
  • Advised a large credit card processing company regarding the feasibility and viability of the business plan for the proposed merged entity of two major US commercial airlines    
  • Advised the bank group for a global chemicals manufacturer and marketer regarding the viability and feasibility of the company’s business plan and projected cash flows

Prior to joining Deloitte, Lance worked within the recovery practices of two other Big Four firms, and as a financial analyst and commercial underwriter.
