Rick Tiwald

Rick is a Tax managing director in the Des Moines office with more than 30 years of experience. He works with clients in a variety of industries including energy, manufacturing, real estate, transportation, and technology, media & telecommunications (TMT).

He has assisted clients with tax matters in a number of different areas, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, entity structuring, tax accounting methods, capital recovery, accounting for income taxes, consolidated returns, and international tax.

Rick leads our Iowa Tax practice, the largest tax practice in the state, with tax professionals in Des Moines and Eastern Iowa. In his role as Marketplace Leader of the Des Moines office, he oversees the marketplace, quality, client service, regulatory, business growth, talent, and community involvement initiatives for the office.
