Retail in Vietnam 2022: Omnichannel takes off
This report will explore several disruptive retail trends in Vietnam and the opportunity they bring for retailers to innovate and establish multi-fold strategies.
Vietnam’s economy looks set for a rapid rebound in 2022. This optimistic prognosis is anticipated to have a good impact on the retail industry, which is undergoing numerous substantial transitions.
This was especially true for the grocery retail industry, as consumers switched away from conventional food shops in the wake of their closures and into a wider variety of alternative channels, such as convenience stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets, and e-commerce and mobile commerce channels. Indeed, the rise in the grocery retail category led to the arrival of several non-grocery merchants, such as e-commerce platforms that developed grocery divisions to capitalize on the expanding at-home consumption trend.
The rapid adoption of digital wallets and non-cash payments, as well as the expansion of wholesale business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce, are two emerging trends that retailers should keep an eye on in the coming years, as they will likely have far-reaching, long-term repercussions for the industry.
This study will provide a better understanding of the quickly changing retail scene in Vietnam.
