Financial Advisory Director
Marcus is a Financial Advisory Director based in Singapore, and is the leader of the Deloitte Southeast Asia Economics Advisory practice. He has over a decade of economic analysis and public policy experience developed in roles with Deloitte Access Economics in Australia – a premier economics consultancy, and at central policy agencies: the Australian Treasury, and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Since joining Deloitte in 2015, Marcus has led a range of economic studies and analyses of public policy and regulatory reform for both public and private sector clients in the Asia Pacific region. These have included a wide-ranging analysis of Australia’s competitive strengths across its key industries, reviews of the economic and industry development policies for state government in Australia, and analysis of regulatory reform in banking, insurance and payments markets for government and industry in both developed and developing economies.
Marcus has led assessments of the economic effects of new infrastructure developments and the establishment of the collaborative economy. He has also undertaken economic contribution studies and social impact assessments, involving developing the theory of change, for private sector firms involved in industries from construction to technology.
Marcus’ previous experience has included institutional markets analysis with a focus on banking sector funding and lending, including small business financing; capital markets policy and financial regulation; and international macroeconomic policy, such as on the G20 and International Monetary Fund.
