UAE and KSA launch a VAT Taxpayer Lookup

Validate your business suppliers registration

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have launched a Value Added Tax (VAT) Registration Number look up on its website. This tool will allow you to verify that your business suppliers have registered for the indirect tax. This can be done by logging into the FTA’s e-services page and searching in the box on the top right corner.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) have also launched a VAT Taxpayer Registry for the same purpose. You can search by the VAT Account Number comprised of 15 digits which is generally available on the invoice. Although searching by the VAT Account Number is the preferred method, GAZT has provided two other search methods listed below:

  • Searching by the Company Registration Number (CR - comprised of 10 digits) which the supplier can provide upon request.
  • Searching by the VAT Certificate Number (comprised of 15 digits) which can be found on the supplier’s VAT Registration Certificate.

To perform the search, you should follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Select your search parameter (VAT Account Number, Company Registration Number or VAT Certificate Number).

-

Step 2: Enter the exact parameter number in the search field.

-

Step 3: Click on “Search” button to obtain the results.
