Joe Eshun became Deloitte East Africa’s Deputy CEO on 1 June 2016. He is also the East Africa practice’s Clients & Industries Leader, and Chief Strategy Officer.

As Deputy CEO, Joe is working with CEO Sammy Onyango to grow the East Africa practice and to fully operationalise the Africa integration.

He joined Deloitte in Tanzania in 2001 and became a Consulting Partner of the firm in 2006. Joe has developed innovative products designed to respond to the international lending agencies and governments need for efficiency, accountability and transparency. He has served several clients in the public sector, financial services and the energy and resources sector.

He is passionate about developing the capacity of young people in Africa and has been leading the training of more than 60 senior managers in Africa over the last 10 years.
