Newton has 27 years’ experience at Deloitte, of which 17 years has been dedicated to the Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) business unit. Newton has advised, and frequently liaises with various Government Departments, including the Department of Trade and Industry, National Treasury, the Department of RuralDevelopment and Land Reform and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries andForestry on incentives and the use thereof to attract investment to South Africa. He is also a member of Deloitte’s Global Investment and Innovation Incentives leadership group. Newton recently served on a Task Team that advised the Minister of Science and Technology on amendments and improvements to the Research and Development incentives in South Africa.
