Stefanus van der Merwe is a Professional Electronic Engineer with over 14 years’ experience on International Telco projects. His focus and strengths are on optical fibre network engineering, both in the core (DWDM) and in the access (FTTH). He has lead and trained several Engineering teams in FTTH design both in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is a Certified Fibre the Home Professional (CFHP) from FTTH Council North America. He has spoken at three of their FTTH conferences including Orlando, Stockholm and Johannesburg about innovative solutions for future FTTH networks. He also has 3 years experience in developing of tender documentation for complex Electronic Engineering projects. He has a passion for Optical fire networks and the future of Telecommunications in Africa.
