Federal Government of Nigeria announces resumption of international flights

The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has announced 29 August 2020 as the resumption date for international flights, beginning with Lagos and Abuja international airports.

The FGN is currently working on relevant protocols and procedures that will guide flight operations and passenger management. These will be announced as soon as possible. It was however stated that the resumption of flights on August 29 is dependent on aviation authorities meeting the criteria to be announced.

It will be recalled that the Federal Government of Nigeria closed the Nigerian airspace in March 2020  to both domestic and international flights, except emergency and essential services, to curb the spread of COVID-19.
