Deloitte at the Finance Indaba 2016

Dr. Ajit Kambil:  Managing Director | Deloitte LLP Global CFO Program.


Ajit is a global advisor, executive, innovator, and educator committed to enriching and expanding the potential of individuals and organizations.

Currently he serves as the Global Director of Research and Transition Labs, in Deloitte’s CFO program. As the creator of the CFO Transition Labs, Ajit advises leading global CFOs on how to successfully transition to a new leadership role. In the lab, a client CFO frames their priorities, assesses their organisation’s capabilities and devises influence strategies to execute key initiatives. Dr. Martyn Davies: Managing Director | Emerging Markets & Africa, Deloitte.

Dr. Martyn Davies is the Managing Director of Emerging Markets & Africa at Deloitte. He also leads the Africa firm’s China and Japan Services Group. Over his career, he has been a trusted advisor to CEOs and executives to a large array of leading global firms and governments on their market entry & engagement strategies in emerging markets.

Martyn was selected in 2010 as a Young Global Leader, an honour bestowed by the World Economic Forum each year to recognise the most distinguished young leaders nominated below the age of 40 from around the world and has served in various advisory capacities at the WEF.

Martyn completed his PhD at the age of 25 and has studied at Wits, Yonsei (Seoul) Harvard Business School, Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Yale University and Said Business School at Oxford University. He is a Visiting Professor at IE Business School, Madrid, Spain and is a Senior Fellow at the MasterCard Center for Inclusive Growth, United States.

James Ransome: Senior Manager | Monitor Deloitte | Consulting.


James is a Senior Manager within the African Monitor Deloitte Innovation team. He has been predominantly focused on conceptualising, designing, building and commercializing disruptive digital financial service businesses, both within emerging and developed markets.

His key experience includes strategic innovation programs, digital growth strategy, business case design and development, corporate and portfolio strategy / business unit strategy, development of working prototypes and business commercialization. Key sector involvement is banking, insurance and telecommunications. 

Topic: Developing an executable strategy for resilience in any climate

A strategy must be flexible and pragmatic but most importantly it needs to be executable. In developing markets that means you must have a handle on economic variables and be able to drive  your workforce towards strategic goals in an ever changing and volatile business environment.
