Gaba Tabane, Africa Government and Public Services Industry Leader

The 2022/23 National Budget takes place at a time when South Africa, and indeed the world, is emerging from two years of being battered by a pandemic, which has left the country reeling with low growth and high unemployment.

In the 2021 Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana, stressed the need to consolidate the small gains attained in the recovery of the economy from the devastation brought about by the pandemic, while adopting a cautious and restrained approach to public spending in the medium term.
