The data management challenge is daunting – and is becoming even more daunting as the volume, variety and velocity of data increases (i.e. the Big Data challenge). This challenge is compounded by the fact that the market is expecting more from organisations in how they are extracting value from this key organisational asset. This, while management is barely keeping its head above the deluge of new data being generated every day.

The reality is that very few organisations are adept at managing their data – but for those organisations that are, the benefits will be significant. These benefits will range from reduced risk to competitive differentiation.
