Associate Director | Strategy & Operations
Rolf oversees Deloitte Southern Africa’s Strategy & Operations Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Strategy offering and advises on inorganic portfolio analysis, target selection, synergy valuation modelling, commercial due diligence (DD) and integration strategy. He leads M&A engagements from advice to execution and is experienced in insurance, banking, airlines and retail. Rolf’s deal-side experience stems from developing new valuation adjustment approaches through DD and integration scenario analysis and understanding the longer-term impact and synergy realization achievable from strategic decisions made early during the transaction phase. This experience was gained from his time spent in integrating financial services acquisitions in Africa.
Rolf also leads the Monitor Deloitte Digital Strategy offering which assists clients to harness digital thinking in their growth strategy formulation, including digital customer experiences, edge solutions, partner ecosystems and delivery platforms. He leads strategies from concept to execution. His passion is in balancing creative solutions with analytical foundations to drive commercial results.
Prior to joining Deloitte Rolf founded and developed an ecommerce retailer, led financial services M&A integration across Africa and programme managed large-scale technology platform implementations. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and a MBA from University of Cape Town.
