Ruben Johannes

Ruben is an associate director in the tax advisory and transactions team for the Deloitte Africa Tax & Legal practice. He has 14 years of tax-related experience and specialises in corporate tax. Ruben has advised a number of South African as well as foreign clients on corporate acquisitions, restructures and mergers, providing tax structuring advice and advising on the tax efficient restructuring of corporate groups.

He also manages the Deloitte Africa Tax & Legal publications team responsible for producing tax-related collateral, including publications on the annual South Africa National Budget Speech and regularly contributes to submissions on proposed corporate tax amendments.

Ruben is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), Registered Tax Practitioner in South Africa with the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT) and holds a Master’s Degree in South African Tax.
