Adam Stanford hands over the successful Consulting business to Yousif Al-Adhami

Under the leadership of Adam Stanford, the Consulting business line became a central pillar of Deloitte’s success and almost doubled its turnover within five years. Stanford is now handing over the baton to Yousif Al-Adhami. Al-Adhami will consistently develop the Consulting business, which aims to make clients more competitive in various strategic and operational areas.

The development of Deloitte Switzerland’s Consulting business line is an impressive success story. Over the past few years, Consulting has practically doubled its turnover – and it has done so in a very volatile environment, characterised by a desire on the part of most companies for sustainable business models and systematic digitalisation, but also by the coronavirus pandemic, geopolitical tensions, inflation and a strong Swiss franc. The number of employees in the Consulting division also rose rapidly to over 1,000, making Deloitte by far the largest consulting provider in Switzerland.

Consulting’s core task is to advise clients on key issues that serve to sustainably strengthen their competitiveness. This includes strategic consulting and operational support in the areas of Human Capital, Strategy, Analytics and M&A, Enterprise Technology & Performance, Customer and Marketing and Core Business Operations. In addition to its broad expertise, Deloitte also draws on extensive technology skills and a first-class ecosystem featuring both the company’s own global network of around 450,000 employees and the world’s leading software, cloud and data providers.

Deloitte is investing a substantial amount in the development of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and enjoys a leading position globally in this field. Consulting is also a key driver of Deloitte’s multidisciplinary business model. This ensures the systematic inclusion of all required business line s and skills in order to meet even very complex client requirements in all key industries in Switzerland. Deloitte Consulting’s success is based not least on the permanent, systematic further development and adaptation of the business to client needs, some of which have changed fundamentally in recent years. The business line’s sustained success has made it a central pillar in the corporate success of Deloitte Switzerland, which now employs over 2,800 people.

After five years at the helm of Consulting, Adam Stanford will hand over the baton to Yousif Al-Adhami on 1 December 2023. Stanford will continue to play a leading role in consulting for Deloitte, focusing in particular on challenging projects in the financial services sector. Al-Adhami is a highly experienced consultant. He has worked for Deloitte for over 16 years and was appointed to the Executive Board as Technology Advisory Leader a year ago.
