Dave Tansley

Dave is Practice Senior Partner for Deloitte South West & Wales where he leads a combined team of over 2,300 people. Dave also leads Deloitte's Government & Public Sector in the South West as well as leading Deloitte's Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Growth sector in the UK and is a member of Deloitte's Public Sector Executive.

Dave joined Deloitte as a consultant in 1994 and has since worked across many industry sectors – both in the UK and internationally. Based out of the Bristol office for the past six years, Dave is focused on the future growth of the business across South West and Wales, driving the firm’s strategy focusing on innovation, technology and talent.

Dave is a Vice Chairman and elected member of the Deloitte North and South Europe Board, where he chairs the Governance & Composition Committee, and sits on the Remuneration Committee, Transformation Committee, Partner Matter & Fairness Committee, Nominations Committee and Compensations & Partner Unit Committee. Dave also chairs the UK & Swiss Partnership Council.

Externally, Dave has been a Leap Advisor for the Earthshot Prize, a Governor and Board Member at University of the West of England, a member of the Governance Board of the Institute of Coding, a Mentor in Residence for the Team Entrepreneur degree programme at UWE. He has been invited to join the Industry Advisory Council of the National Composites Centre.

Dave is a respected sector commentator and thought leader. He currently specialises in leading technology enabled business transformation and in helping organisations to exploit the opportunities offered by the digital technology and services. Dave is currently supporting the delivery of multiple business and technology change programmes in the Public Sector.

He is a Chartered Engineer and begun his early career as an Officer in the Royal Air Force, where he was responsible for designing, building and managing international telecommunications solutions. His experience spans the full IS/IT lifecycle from design and build to operations, and includes significant experience of IT services procurement and outsourcing.
