Meet Damini, a Melbourne-based Strategy Consultant in Deloitte Monitor. She is passionate about teamwork, keeping her clients happy and helping to solve diverse problems.

So, tell us about a day in the life … 

If I’m in the office, my day kicks off with a coffee run and a yarn with my team mates about our weekends. This is followed by a project team stand-up where we agree on plan of action for the day and end with a nifty group icebreaker (e.g., on my last project we came up with a Spotify playlist with a song for every single letter for the alphabet!). 

The rest of the day then varies from project to project. The start of an engagement will usually begin with bit of desktop research and getting up to speed on the client and the industry. On my current project we’re working closely with the client to define the problem and co-creating our approach as we go. This means there’s lots of interviewing, whiteboarding and team brainstorming sessions – a great opportunity to flex your teamwork and client management skills. On a typical day I’ll usually try to take a break around 4pm to get out for a quick walk and catch some sunshine before logging back on in the evening to wrap up my work and plan for the next day.
