New EU Blue Card Directive

The European Parliament has approved a new the EU Blue Card Directive aiming to improve the rules for attracting highly skilled workers from outside the EU. The main purpose of the new Directive is to further assist employers for recruiting from outside the EU by making the process easier and more accessible, especially for industries where there is a labour shortage such as technology, healthcare and engineering. EU Member States will have two years to implement the new Directive into their national laws.
