Swiss Initiatives

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Challenge is Deloitte’s innovation initiative designed to engage the entrepreneurial spirit of our employees here in Switzerland. The challenge runs every second year and offers our people the chance to make a difference to the lives of others. They can initiate and develop new programmes and projects that deliver on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals  for inclusive and equitable education and lifelong learning (SDG 4) and sustained economic growth and decent work for all (SDG 8). Deloitte rewards the teams behind the most impactful ideas with the full support of the firm including time and resource to make their ideas become reality.

Connection & Assistance for Refugee Employability (CARE): At Deloitte, we want to make an impact that matters – not only for our clients and our people, but also for society. Deloitte CARE, the winning project of the 2018 SDG Challenge aims to empower refugees in Switzerland to lead better and
economically more successful lives while positively impacting the local
economy.

The goal is to increase refugees' employability through business acceleration, mentoring, sponsorships, integration events, and co-creation with other companies. The initiative is based on a strong collaboration with local organisations such as Power Coders, Capacity Zurich - Refugee & Migrant Entreprenuership, Hospice General and Singa. CARE has been successfully launched in Zurich and Geneva. Since the start of the programme, over 80 refugees have participated in mentoring cycles and  integration events and around 120 Deloitte employees have contributed to the project leveraging their specific skills.
