The Connecting Global FinTech: Hub Review 2016
Deloitte is proud to release the Connecting Global FinTech: Hub Review 2016, which has been prepared in collaboration with Innovate Finance and SWIFT Innotribe, for the recently-launched Global FinTech Hubs Federation (GFHF).
The review, which launched at the 2016 Sibos conference, is designed to provide startups, investors, workers and financial institutions an informed summary of FinTech activity in the various industry hubs across the globe.
In compiling the review, we analysed 21 FinTech hubs around the world through quantitative research and interviews with local FinTech subject matter experts in each hub. The top five hubs emerging with a leading Index Performance Score were London, Singapore, New York, Hong Kong, and Silicon Valley. However, a number of centres which traditionally have not focused on finance are effectively building their FinTech offering, thanks to the borderless nature of technological innovation.
At Deloitte we are passionate about, and invested in, connecting and orchestrating the FinTech community. We believe that a well-developed FinTech sector can make participation in the financial system easier for businesses and consumers, lower barriers to entry, encourage the cross-border flow of ideas and skills, be an engine for economic growth, and cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
