Deloitte strengthens team in Zurich and Basel

Deloitte’s growth in Switzerland continues with the addition of five new senior members. Karin Verheijen joins in Basel and Keith Ashworth, Mark Carter, Marcel Meyer and Thomas Spellman in Zurich.

Karin Verheijen

Karin leads the Global Employer Services group in Basel. She has more than twenty years of experience providing Swiss and international tax advice. She is specialised in technical support to employers who are moving people across borders, coordinating global tax and mobility programs for multi-national corporations as well as supporting companies with managing, transforming and optimising their international mobility programmes.

Keith Ashworth 

Keith is a partner focusing specifically in the area of retail Financial Services. He has more than twenty-two years of experience working within asset management, retail banking, retail and life insurance industries for some of the largest financial institutions in Europe. He has delivered a number of very large scale programmes covering market, technology, finance and customer issues that range from strategic initiatives through to system implementations.

Mark Carter 

Mark leads the Security & Resilience group in Switzerland and has more than fifteen years of IT consultancy experience, the majority of which has been spent helping organisations to transform their information security capabilities. Mark has worked across various risk management functions including IT security, information risk management, operational risk, and data privacy. He has worked extensively in the Financial Services industry and has significant experience in the Consumer Business and Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) industries.

Marcel Meyer 

Marcel leads the Asset Management Assurance and Advisory Business across Switzerland. He has more than twelve years of experience in auditing and advising domestic and international clients in the asset management industry. Marcel has worked extensively with regulated Swiss and Liechtenstein clients as well as alternative investment fund structures such as Private Equity and Hedge Funds managers and companies in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Thomas Spellman 

Thomas leads the Risk and Regulation team in Zurich. He has more than twelve years experience leading major risk, compliance and finance transformation programmes at top European and global financial institutions. He has also supported a number of European regulators to develop revised frameworks post 2007. Thomas has worked at all levels of these organisations to ensure delivery of significant benefits from the transformation work.
