Landmark project with the World Bank on Chinese accounting standards

In 1993, Deloitte was selected and funded by the World Bank to work with the PRC MoF on the development and harmonization of China's accounting standards with the international system.

This was a landmark project pivotal to China's enterprises participating in international capital markets, and China's role as a global economic power. Concurrent with this, Deloitte expanded its Beijing branch office to a multinational team of 60, including professionals from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and U.S.
