Published: 19 September 2022

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and Deloitte Advisory (Hong Kong) Limited (Deloitte) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 13 September to promote cooperation and partnership in terms of nurturing future business leaders.

The MoU was signed by Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, and Mr Patrick Tsang, Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte China.

Professor Alexander Wai said: “HKBU is committed to nurturing new generations of talented, creative, resilient and visionary graduates who can meet future global challenges, and in line with this, our School of Business has cultivated echelons of ethical business leaders with a global vision who make a difference to the organisations, industries and communities that they serve.

“It is our great pleasure to partner with Deloitte. Given Deloitte’s extensive global business network, and the abundant industry knowledge retained by its rich reserve of business professionals, it will undoubtedly broaden the horizons of our students.”

"Talent development has always been one of our firm's key priorities. An aspiration we share with HKBU is to develop future-ready talent with multidisciplinary capabilities. As an alumnus of HKBU, I am delighted that Deloitte enters into this meaningful and comprehensive partnership with HKBU so we have an opportunity to explore synergy across different faculties and areas together, enabling students to make an impact that matters to the future development of Hong Kong and beyond," adds Patrick Tsang, CEO of Deloitte China.

"This is another testament to Deloitte’s INspire HK strategic commitment in nurturing future young leaders through capability upgrades and on-going talent development. We will continue to harness opportunities brought about by emerging technologies and enhance talent development to shape a better future for our next generation in Hong Kong."

Under the MoU, HKBU and Deloitte will join hands to explore different collaboration opportunities. These opportunities may include identifying occasions such as forums, seminars, lectures and workshops to share industry insights; providing career opportunities such as internships, practicums and job placements to HKBU students; and supporting student learning initiatives such as industry projects, mentorship programmes and research schemes.
