Shandong government and industry leaders visited HK office
On the afternoon of 11 September 2017, Wang Suilian, Shandong Province Vice Governor and Chairperson of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (Chamber), led a delegation of 24 people on a visit to the Deloitte Hong Kong office. The aim was to explore possible opportunities for collaboration between Deloitte China and the Shandong Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (Chamber).
Deloitte representatives in attendance included Philip Tsai, Chairman; Derek Lai and Pauline Zhang, Vice Chairs; Dennis Chow, Southern Region Managing Partner (SR RMP); Norman Sze, Northern Region Managing Partner (NR RMP), Li Peng, Northern Region (NR) Central Business Development (CBD) Leader; Patrick Lung, Jinan Office Managing Partner; and Jack Cong, NR CBD Director.
At the seminar, Wang Suilian, Shandong Province Vice Governor, and Philip Tsai, Deloitte China Chairman, made keynote speeches respectively. Derek Lai, Deloitte China Vice Chair, shared the overview and results of the 2015-2017 Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed between Deloitte China and the Shandong Province Government. Pauline Zhang, Deloitte China Vice Chair, offered insights into the opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese private enterprises when pursuing overseas investment, while Dennis Chow, SR RMP, showed the trends of Chinese private enterprises going public in Hong Kong. Norman Sze, NR RMP, then gave his views on how the Belt and Road Initiative could assist Chinese private enterprises in going global, after which Li Peng, NR CBD Leader, introduced the establishment of the modern corporate structure. Finally, Patrick Lung, Jinan Office Managing Partner, outlined the history and recent developments of Deloitte China in Shandong Province.
On behalf of the members in the Shandong Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (Chamber), Shang Jiyong, Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (Chamber) and Chairman of the Board of China Wanda Group, as well as Lixiang Ping, Chairman of the Board of Shandong Dongming Petrochemical Group, exchanged their thoughts and ideas with Deloitte China leaders on topics such as the Belt and Road Initiative and mixed-ownership reform.
Ultimately, Deloitte China is committed to being a trusty advisory think tank for the Shandong Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce (Chamber), and to assist Shandong Province in developing its non-state economy at a healthy and rapid speed.
