Deloitte China invited to 2017 U.S.-China Smart Cities Forum
On September 20th, 2017, Deloitte China Public Sector Leader Ms. Clare Ma and DC HCAS HCPS Director Mr. Alex Xie were invited by U.S. Commercial Service to attend 2017 U.S.-China Smart Cities Forum (referred to as "the Forum"), which was jointly organized by U.S. Commercial Service and Shanghai Pudong Smart City Research Institute.
The Forum was greatly supported by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information and Pudong New District Science, Technology and Economy Commission. As one of the guest speakers, Alex Xie delivered a speech on Deloitte's insights of Smart City development and service solutions, among which he highlighted:
- Digital technology creates smart city, aiming at continuous improvement of key values to achieve national well-being.
- To build smart urban ecosphere of smart cities, smart economy and smart society based on digital technology and address demands from urban, economic and human development.
- Construction of a smart city is a systematic project, of which the key lies in having a comprehensive overall architecture and deployment strategy.
- The biggest challenge of building a smart city is to have an efficient and collaborative organizational system.
- Deloitte has in-depth industrial understanding and insights on Public Sector, which can support us to provide highly customized smart city planning advisory service.
After the Forum, Clare and Alex exchanged views with officials and business delegates on technology and professional services in the field of smart city. We all expressed the hope that there must be more and more cooperation opportunities in the future. Through this Forum, Deloitte China effectively promotes solutions about smart city strategic planning, design and implementation, which is also helpful for enhancing Deloitte‘s market influence.
