2014 Deloitte China Sustainability Awards

The Award Ceremony took place at the 12 Hengshan Hotel in Shanghai on 27 February 2014, bringing together sustainability professionals from the government, non-governmental organisations, international organisations, and the private and public sectors focusing on the emerging sustainability trends in China. The objectives of the Awards were to encourage and reward best-practice corporate sustainability amongst multinationals in China. The Award Ceremony offered all participating companies excellent experience sharing and networking opportunities.

The Sustainability Awards was initiated in response to the increased China focus on Sustainability. The National 12th five-year plan in China includes environmental protection and the stock exchanges of Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong have all taken actions to encourage more disclosure on sustainability amongst listed companies. Sustainability has become an important area that companies which are operating in China need to look into and adopt to evaluate the risks and opportunities it may bring to them. Deloitte China is looking forward to following the business development of sustainability and be actively involved in where we can bring value.
